Historical Design is renowned for important works of art of the late 19th, 20th and 21st Centuries.  The gallery was founded in New York City in 1995 and the comprehensive collection includes works by many of the most influential figures of the design world. The emphasis of the collection is quality, originality of expression and the art historical significance of avant-garde design in both Europe and America. Historical Design established a world wide reputation for museum quality shows. These landmark exhibitions included Archibald Knox, Christopher Dresser and the Wiener Werkstätte among others. Our clientele includes major museums, architects, designers and important collectors the world over.  For the last ten years, Historical Design has moved in many directions, including 21st Century art and design, historical building renovation, jewels and the art of jewelry and many new creative ventures, including a private perfume label.

In addition to the featured historical works, a comparison is made with an inspirational image that either directly relates to the instinctual or visual presence of the piece or simply an image to delight the viewer.
