New Whitney, New York
The New Whitney opened its doors in May and has been a visitor magnet ever since. I finally got a chance to make my way down to the Meatpacking District to visit the New Whitney and see for myself what all the talk has been about. And wow, the Whitney Museum of American Art does not disappoint! The building designed by Renzo Piano sits grandly right by the entrance to the High Line. When you enter you will most likely make it up to the 8th Floor first and walk your way down. I have to say, I was in awe of the architecture, the space, the terraces, the view and the art. Once you take in the view, you fall in love with New York all over again. You are in the middle of everything and have the most glorious view and the energy around you is so high. It is almost too difficult to take it all in when you go to the New Whitney for the first time, I was so smitten with the building and the view that I couldn’t concentrate on the art. I will go back soon and I am sure every time you go back you discover something new. The New Whitney is a gem and you should not miss it! I already planned my next visit. Happy Summer Art Lovers!
