hdi exhibition pick: “China: through the Looking Glass” at the Met

China: Through the Looking Glass, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, through September 7th, 2015

Once again we made our way to one of our favorite museums In New York, the Metropolitan to visit the exhibition “China: Through the Looking Glass”. This exhibit is a collaboration of The Costume Institute and the Department of Asian Art and includes spectacular fashion, jewelry, art, films and more reflecting on Chinese imagery. The idea was to juxtapose classic historical Chinese attire with the best contemporary examples highlighting the influence of Chinese style and graphic design.  Holland Cotter from the New York Times wrote a very interesting review on the show, which you can read here.
