Museum Visit: Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach
It’s been a few weeks since our last post and we are back with lots of new and exciting HDI Exhibitions picks from around New York. Before we share our NYC picks, we wanted to share a few of our favorite images from the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. We really enjoyed their current exhibit “O’Keefe, Stettheimer, Torr, Zorach: Modernists in New York” which is on view until May 15th, 2o16 and which looks at the art and careers of modernists Marguerite Zorach, Florine Stettheimer, Helen Torr, and Georgia O’Keeffe together for the first time. These women all sought to be recognized as artists rather than women artists, but their identity as women shaped the circumstances under which they worked, the forms their art took, and the way their pictures were interpreted. Unfortunately we weren’t able to take any pictures and we hope you get a chance to see this wonderful exhibition in person.
Our images featured are all from the Norton’s permanent collection and the photo of Andy Warhol is from the DeWoody collection. Enjoy!
