Gallery Visit: Hauser Wirth & Schimmel Los Angeles
We hope that you had a spectacular Fourth of July weekend and that you are enjoying the summer! We decided to leave hot and steamy New York for a few days and go to California. Hauser Wirth & Schimmel has been on our list for a visit, as well as the Broad Museum (a Musings post to come on that too). Hauser Wirth didn’t disappoint, it is located in downtown LA and it had a great vibe to it. The exhibition currently on view is “Revolution in the Making: Abstract Sculpture by Women, 1947 – 2016” 13 March – 4 September 2016 and shouldn’t be missed if you are in LA. What is really exciting about the gallery is that it has become a very “happening” place and is adding downtown LA to the arts map. “Manuela”, their restaurant on the premise is opening soon and it is wonderful to walk around the gallery taking in the art in this very cool space! Explore the surrounding area as well, there is lots to discover, we loved the street art look on the exterior and the very cool “Piroshki” food truck! A definite “Don’t Miss” on our list and we hope you get a chance to visit as well. Enjoy our photos and happy summer!
