HDI Museum visit: Broad Museum Los Angeles

Another museum on our bucket list was the Broad. The Broad Museum opened in September of 2015 and is a postwar and contemporary art museum in Downtown LA. The museum is named for philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad and it shows their personal collection of 2,000 works. Their philosophy was to buy art when the art was made. The museum was designed by world-renowned architectural firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler. With its innovative “veil-and-vault” concept, the 120,000-square-foot building features two floors of gallery space to showcase the Broad’s comprehensive collection.
