HDI Exhibition Pick: “Thomas Hart Benton and Hollywood” at the Milwaukee Art Museum

Another must see exhibition currently on view is the “Thomas Hart Benton and Hollywood” show at the Milwaukee Art Museum. His love of movies and old Hollywood is so wonderfully depicted in the larger than life paintings by the renowned American painter Thomas Hart Benton. Benton was famous for his desire to paint life as it was, and not simply as we might wish it to be and the same is true about his work depicting Hollywood. It feels like we are getting a peek at people immersed in their craft and Hollywood lives from the 1920’s to 1940’s! We truly enjoyed seeing his powerful imagery and hope you will enjoy a few of our favorite paintings. The exhibition is on view until September 5th.
