HDI Exhibition tip: “Giovanni Bellini: Landscapes of Faith in Renaissance Venice” Getty Center, Los Angeles
Another fascinating exhibit currently on view (and only until January 14th, 2018) is “Giovanni Bellini: Landscapes of Faith in Renaissance Venice”. Giovanni Bellini, one of the most influential painters of the Renaissance worked in and around Venice, where religious subjects and landscapes dominated 15th Century Italian Art. Created for sophisticated patrons, Bellini’s works present characters and symbols from familiar sacred stories, set in a dimension of reality and lived experience to a degree unprecedented in the history of Italian painting. Sometimes it is quite fascinating to get lost in the art of long bygone eras and old masters, as well as religious subjects seem to be hitting quite a nerve right now. Enjoy our pics!
