HDI Exhibition Tip: “The Jeweled Isle: Art from Sri Lanka”, LACMA, Los Angeles

LACMA is always a favorite stop when in LA and this trip was no different. We visited the newly opened exhibition “The Jeweled Isle: Art from Sri Lanka” and were mesmerized by this comprehensive survey of Sri Lankan art. Two millennia of Sri Lankan history are on display and it was interesting to learn more about the importance of sacred sites and relics in Sri Lankan Buddhist practice. Decorative objects are on display, as well as masks, photographs and textiles. Enjoy some of our favorite works in this extraordinary exhibit. On view until June 23rd, 2019.
