HDI Museum Tip: The Irvine Museum Collection, Irvine, CA
The Irvine Museum Collection has been on our radar for a while and we finally made it there on our recent visit to LA. The Irvine Museum is dedicated to the education and preservation of California art of the Impressionist Period (1890-1930). Vivid landscapes are on display showcasing the beauty of Southern California and the current exhibit on view “Upon a Painted Ocean: An Ode to the California Coast” highlights beautiful scenes of idyllic beaches, paintings of Santa Catalina Island, Coronado Beach, the rocky cliffs of Big Sur, views of San Francisco Bay, and historic vistas of Crystal Cove. The Irvine Museum specializes in the Impressionist period, but this exhibit also highlights contemporary artists. It’s a wonderful experience to view these spectacular paintings of California and we can highly recommend a visit. For more information on the museum click here.
