HDI Exhibition Tip: “To Rome and Back: Individualism and Authority in Art, 1500–1800”, LACMA, Los Angeles
Before heading back to New York, we enjoyed one more amazing exhibit at LACMA in Los Angeles: “To Rome and Back: Individualism and Authority in Art, 1500–1800”. Assembled entirely from LACMA’s permanent collection, the works exhibited reveal the depth of Rome’s impact from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment, before rising individualism, internationalism, and the optimistic equilibrium between secular and religious forces caused the city’s ultimate marginalization. Being fascinated by the history of Rome and the marvelous works that are historical wonders, we hope you enjoy some of our favorite works on display. The exhibition is on display until March 17th, 2019.
