HDI Exhibition Tip: “The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China” at LACMA, Los Angeles

Back in LA, a visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is always in order. It’s fascinating to see what’s on and see new things. It was interesting to see the “The Allure of Matter: Material Art from China” exhibit and see how contemporary Chinese artists work with materials and their interpretations. The exhibitions spans four decades and features some of the most influential contemporary Chinese artists including Xu Bing, Cai Guo-Qiang, Lin Tianmiao, and Ai Weiwei. The Allure of Matter premieres at LACMA before traveling to the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago, the Seattle Art Museum, and finally the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.
